Mack Daddy Racing is proud to announce it's return to the AMA National Flat Track Series in 2009. After 2 seasons of participating at only selected events MDR is happy to be going racing again in 2009.
The impetus for this change is an arrangement made between MDR and 2008 AMA Rookie of the Year, Matt Weidman. After a few conversations between MDR owner, George Mack, Matt Weidman and his father, Guy Weidman, an agreement was reached to do the GNC Singles Series for 2009.
"I am very excited to go racing again", said George Mack. "I always knew that MDR would be back racing, then when the opportunity arose to team up with Matt Weidman, and after our discussions, I realized this was a great fit for all of us".
The early agreement is for Matt, who will carry National #20 in 2009, and MDR to race at all the GNC Singles events, with posibilities of a few other selected 450 races in the midwest. "Since Matt has a deal for his 750 Twins program with the RCS Racing Team, and MDR only wants to race the singles events, this will work out great for Matt, MDR, and the RCS Racing Team", said Mack.
"The opportunity to go racing again with a rider with Matt's credentials, abilities, and great attitude made this decision easy for me. I am very competitive, and so is the Weidman family, I am very excited" said George. "I believe that with the MDR bikes and Matt's riding abilities that we will be strong contenders at every event we go to". "We are already working on our 2009 fuel injected Honda CRF 450s, and have got some things figured out already". "Daytona is less than 3 months away, and we want to be ready to rock way ahead of time".
